Bodies of Water

By the time bodies are named bodies, they are bodies,

Like bodies of water, a collective

Sometimes, I still refer to that god

My hands are linked to hers; I am a part of a collective.

When story time begins,
I sit next to her 彼女の crisscross手をapplesauce style握る

(and later I will learn a shade of how she felt, while I give a presentation

about the bombing in

ヒロシマ, or when I am pulled over before class,

Today, we will talk, about, Pearl Harbor)

Those stories,

read, by, bodies, pre, mature, bodies, taught me how

to identify with the collective

But this memory lacks evidence.

だってI miss Chinatown, packaged スシ, salmon rolls,

and teriyaki chicken for school lunches.

(I apologize for my pronunciation, I would have asked,

but I could not determine, I could not find one

who spoke the language fluently so they can correct me)

Korean food.

I’d rather have pizza because then, I would have known, I

’d know I wasn’t living in a crack in the bodies of water,

But there were plenty out there,

I cannot say that word out loud, and it is

I

who has a problem

I could speak for no one, not one color(s),

The watered-down collective was all I knew

, -one, , ,

A collective

I am not part of a collective,

It is I

who has

collected

it is

me

who is

a collective/塊
